During fashion week in NYC this September Susan Woo debuted her second collection, Spring 2010. The following week we took to Space 523 in Brooklyn to shoot her new looks. This time around our goal was to top the success of last seasons lookbook and with able hands on deck, I think we did it. Following the shoot, I made 8×10 inch prints and hand painted the photographs. It’s a slight touch but I think it brings a really interesting layer to the work.

As a side note to my photo friends out there, at Space 523 there is an original stool from Irving Penn’s 1970s studio in Manhattan which we were able to use for the day! I am delighted to have it in one of the final prints above. Here are some behind the scene’s…

Wyborowa Vodka

Label re-design using only typograpy for Polish Vodka brand Wyborowa. My concept uses hand drawn typography - referencing traditional Polish graphic design which featured lots of handmade type. The clarity of the vodka is its main feature, which is emphasised by having the story of the Vodka’s origin on the back of the bottle. The viewer peers through the product to read the story. When viewed on an angle the viewer gets an interesting warped optical effect whilst isolating the products name on the front of the bottle.
